The Millard Athletic Association (MAA) Softball provides the opportunity for girls from Kindergarten through 12th grade (or age 18) to learn and participate in fast pitch softball. A summer recreational league program is provided along with a "select" program for girls who want to play at a higher, more competitive level. For this season, over 950 girls will be participating on 70+ teams in the nine age-group summer recreational league and an additional 150-200 players playing on fourteen select teams. A fall instructional league with clinics is also part of the MAA Softball program.
The Spring In House League season runs from end-April through early-July with approximately 15 regular season games beginning the last week in April followed by a double elimination tournament beginning at the end of June. Special age-appropriate rules are utilized for each age group to create a fun environment to learn Fast Pitch Softball and to provide the opportunity to maximize each player's development. Leagues are determined by a player’s current grade. All players are allowed to move up one grade level from their current grade to play. Games and post season tournaments for the recreational league are played at the Westchester Park Softball Complex features four regulation softball fields with "agri-lime" surfaces. This field surface is used at many of the finer complexes throughout the country and is the best surface available to minimize rainouts. Westchester Park also includes a double batting cage that is available for MAA Softball teams to use for practice.
